A Beautiful Prayer for a Deceased Loved One

Many times, the reality of life is hard to accept especially if the death of a loved one happens to be involved. Their death leaves us feeling great loss. And usually, this is because we view death as the termination of the earthly and eternal existence of a person. But is this so? Not at all! Rather, we should see death as that means through which we transcend from this earthly realm to the realm of our lovely loving father. When you understand this, you would not feel as much loss because you would know that they are still alive with Christ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26).
Say this lovely prayer for your deceased dear one:

“Our heavenly father, our family prays that You will find mercy on the soul of our brother (sister) and friend. We pray that with his (her) unexpected death, his (her) soul may find peace that he (she) has lived a good life and did his (her) best serving his family, workplace and loved ones while he was on earth. We also earnestly seek for the forgiveness of all his (her) sins and all of his shortcomings. May he (she) find assurance that his (her) family will remain strong and steadfast in serving the Lord as he (she) moves forward in his (her) journey to eternal life with Christ, his (her) Lord and Savior. Dear Father, take His (her) soul into Your kingdom and let perpetual light shine upon him (her), may he rest in peace. Amen”.
