It is heartbreaking enough to watch a loved one passed through the agony of sickness but much worse, to watch one’s father pass through such. Worse still is the fact that a father’s illness, can plunge the family as a whole to financial difficulties, vulnerability and a lot of setbacks. If you happen to be in such shoes, do not lose hope because prayers work wonders. They do the impossible, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24).
Make this prayer to God bearing in mind the person for whom you make the prayer and ask God for His healing upon him:
“Lord Jesus Christ, by your patience in suffering, you gave us an example of obedience to your father’s will. Be near my father in his time of weakness and pain.
Sustain him by your grace, that his strength and courage may not fail; heal him according to your will; and help him always to believe that what happens here is always according to your will, my Lord and my God. Amen.”
