10 Powerful Prayers for Joy
It is not always easy to find joy in the middle of the chaos and difficulty that life brings us, and we need to often be intentional in our thoughts. Here are 10 powerful prayers to help you find joy.
1. Prayer for Joy in My Life
Loving God, thank You for the blessings You’ve bestowed upon me. I have so many things to be thankful for, yet I am missing joy.
I ask that You provide me with immeasurable joy. Happiness abounds in my life and my heart, but I long for joy. Bring me closer to You so I can be the follower I need to be. Pull me so close that the distance between us will seem to have never existed. Jesus, I want to love like You, forgive like You, and live for You. I ask these things in Your precious name. Amen.
2. Prayer for Joy and Peace
Father of Mercies, please, Lord, I long for joy in my heart and peace in my soul. Bless me with contentment, so I may know what it feels like to love this life entirely. I desire to be near You every moment, and I know if I am, I will be able to receive the joy that is waiting for me. Hold my hand, guide me, and let me live in Your perfect will. Wrap Your Spirit around me, so my every breath is in sequence with Yours. Let peace envelop my thoughts and encompass my body. May I never, ever pull away. In Jesus’ awesome name, I pray. Amen.
3. Prayer for Joy and Happiness
Compassionate and Gracious God, I yearn for happiness to take over my emotions and joy to lead my path. Please allow me to leave behind these feelings of sorrow and depression and erase my overlying, constant feeling of gloom. Fill my thoughts with delightful images and words, so happiness can arise and pull me out of despair. I pray that You capture my spirit and tightly weave in joy, so it is bounded by grace and can never escape. I ask these things in Jesus name. Amen.
4. Prayer for Joy and Laughter
Light in the Darkness, thank You for loving me. Please bring Your light into my soul and bless me with laughter. Everything around me proves I am empty of happy emotions, and I want that to change. My negative thoughts and gloomy moods have gotten the best of me, and I am longing for joy once again. I ask that You flood my heart with joyous peace, so I can remember what it feels like to smile. May my mind fill up with the joy of Heaven and let laughter continuously spring from my mouth. I ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
5. Prayer for Joy and Contentment
Dear Jesus, my mind can’t seem to settle down and just live for today. Please help me find joy in my surroundings and contentment with my circumstances. Whatever is happening and wherever I am, I want to be completely satisfied and fulfilled, so I’m not constantly yearning for more or something different. I need You near me each moment, so joy can consume my spirit. For without You, there is no contentment with life, and there is no joy to light up my soul. I ask these things in Your precious name. Amen.
6. Prayer for Joy and Gratitude
Precious Holy Spirit, You’ve blessed me with so much, and I love You like no other. Please help me show my thankfulness and gratitude to You. Help me show gratitude to others for all they mean to me and all they have done for me. If You could fill my heart with joy again, I know gratitude would come easy. I pray for You to not leave me or give up on me. Show me how to find joy in a world where many are against Christianity. Remind me to be grateful for every ounce of goodness, love, and kindness I observe. Jesus, be with me as I search to find my lost joy. In Your loving name, I pray. Amen.
7. Prayer for Strength to Find Joy
Jesus, the Great Physician, I need Your help to find joy again. My body and mind are tired and weak from searching for inner peace and reasons to rejoice. I am worn from trying to re-gain something so precious and dear to my well-being. I pray for strength, both physically and mentally, to find the joy that will make my smile shine and keep my spirit from growing weary. Bring back what used to be and remind me that joy can be found in everything. Please, as I look to find it, be with me and give me the perseverance, motivation, and ability to not give up. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
8. Prayer for Joy and Hope
O Lord, my King, bless my thoughts with hope for my future as I tread through the harsh happenings of this world. Be with me and keep my feet standing firm on my Christian values. Help me to see past the opposing views and disagreements of everyone around me and settle my anxieties. Wrap my mind with layers of joy so negativity and hopelessness can’t cross into my thoughts. Keep me uplifted, let me find the good in all moments, and may my joyful spirit take control at all times. In Jesus’ holy name, I pray. Amen.
9. Prayer for Joy and Trust
Name above all Names, please allow my eyes to see the way You do. Keep my outlook filled with hope and positivity, remind me to be thankful for each moment, and let my trust in You carry me daily. Show me how to find my joy and give me the power to do it. By trusting in Your promises and letting joy lead me, I know my struggles will become easier. Help me to see past the problems of today and keep my visions of eternity with You foremost in my mind. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
10. Prayer for Joy and Faith
Lord of Mercy and Love, remind me not to let my joy fade as I look out at the increasing problems around me. Provide me with a faith so strong it can’t be tainted and let me use that faith against all the evils in existence. Give me to power to show Satan that my joy erases his ploy to drown me and support me when I have to show him my faith outweighs his motives to take my joy. May evildoers and those who gossip to spread hate, keep their distance from me. Show me how to live a life that allows my joy and faith in You to shine. It’s these things I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
