A Prayer for Strengthening of the Soul

June 22, 20212 min read

There are times when your soul could feel so exhausted. It could feel so weighed down by the burdens of the spirit. At such moments, you could even feel too weak to pray, fast, read the Bible or involve yourself in activities which affect the spirit.

A lot of Christians have passed through and still pass through such a state. Once in a while, there would inevitably be that moment of weakness. Even our Lord Jesus passed through the same weaknesses and temptations as we do. “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin” (Heb 4:15).

However, when such moments come up, you need prayers urgently. You need to wake your soul up by being connected to God no matter how weak your soul may be. This is it is said in Isaiah 40:30 “Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

This powerful prayer is a prayer of healing for the soul; A prayer to renew, strengthen and boost the soul. Say this prayer:

“God of the Universe, thank you that you are the resurrection and the life, death holds no power over you. Your word says that the joy of the Lord is my strength. Let me rejoice in my salvation and find true strength in you. Renew my strength every morning and restore my strength every evening. Let me be filled with your Holy Spirit, through whom you broke the power of sin, shame and death. You are the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God. To you be honor and glory forever and ever. Through Jesus Christ, Lord. Amen”.

Also remember that the word of God is food for the soul. After you must have reawakened your soul through this prayer, make sure to nourish it with the holy Word and do so everyday. “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:8).
